It is used in the manufacture of sinks, stoves, switchboards and other electric equipment which use insulating materials. Since it has a high resistance to heat, electricity and acid, it is used to provide insulation and resistance to laboratory surfaces and equipment.

India accounts for more than 10% of all French Chalk Powder manufactured globally.

Advantages :

Non-Toxic : Our French Chalk Powder is safe and non-poisonous. The Chalk Powder undergoes rigorous quality checks and safety tests to ensure only the highest quality powder is delivered to you.

Flame Proof : French Chalk is fireproof, and is non-flammable.

Low Oil Absorption : The French Chalk Powder has a low oil absorption rate, which results in a more pure powder. The low absorption also contributes to a better finish.

Low Solubility : French Chalk is insoluble in hot and cold water, and is slightly soluble in certain diluted mineral-based acids. The low solubility results in an even constituency, which is not affected by moisture. It also makes the French Chalk very stable.

Easy Storage : French Chalk can be easily stored at room temperature. It can also be easily packaged and transported.

Uses of French Chalk Powder

Welding and Metalworking: French Chalk, or tailor’s chalk, is extensively used in welding and metalworking as a marker and filler.

The more pure and adulterant-free the powder is, the more seamless and smooth the welding process would be.

Construction: French Chalk is being touted as an alternative for construction cement. It uses much less energy to produce than generic cement. It is also better for the environment, as its production has a smaller carbon footprint.

Many organizations are pushing for more funding and research into this sector.

Food Industry:Talcum Powder is used as an additive in foodstuff. It is also used in processing white rice. Talcum Powder as a buffing agent in polishing rice grains. It is also used as an anticaking agent to prevent coagulation of table salt.

Pharmaceutical Industry: French Chalk is used as a glidant in manufacturing medicines. It is used as a pleurodesis agent, which prevents recurrent pleural effusion, or pneumothorax.

This is extensively used in cancer treatments where pleural effusions are common (pleural effusion is an abnormal collection of fluid in the cavity present between the thoracic wall and the lungs).

The agent is sent into this cavity using a chest tube, which causes it to close up. This results in the space being sealed off, and no fluid can collect there. Before use, medical-grade pleurodesis agents are sanitized by irradiation using gamma radiation.

Lubrication: French Chalk has very low shear strength, and is widely used as a solid lubricant. It is also used as an additive for reducing friction in lubricating oils. The lubricant reduces the heat produced and increases the efficiency of the equipment.

Ceramics Industry: Talcum Powder is used in the ceramics industry for manufacturing both bodies and glazes.

It gives the product a white hue, and adds to its thermal expansion and reduces crazing. Minute amounts of French Chalk are used in stonewares as a flux to improve strength and vitrification.

Other Uses: French Chalk Powder is used in lining surgical rubber gloves. It is also used in various sports, by rock climbers, tug-of-war players, and basketball players to ensure a good grip.

It is also used as a base constituent for the manufacture of interior wall paint. It is also used in the manufacture and processing of baby powder and detergents.
